MKT 818: Product Development and Management
Course Description: This course provides a comprehensive exploration of key aspects of new product development and management. It explores the fundamental definitions, theories, and processes underpinning successful product development and management. The course also examines contemporary practices, the interconnected aspects of new product development, effective marketing strategies for new offerings, foundational approaches to innovation, and the crucial role of managing the product manager’s interactions within an organization. Through student-led presentations and in-depth class discussions. This course aims to equip students with the knowledge and skills about today’s dynamic product landscape.
Harmattan Semester
MKT 821: Industrial Marketing
Course Description: This course provides an introduction to industrial marketing (B2B Marketing) and the unique characteristics of industrial markets. It examines the differences between industrial and consumer marketing, with emphasis on the nature of industrial products and services and their role in organizational purchasing decisions. The course explores the application of marketing mix strategies in industrial markets, including product, pricing, promotion, and distribution decisions. Students will learn effective selling techniques for business-to-business markets, methods of segmenting industrial markets, and the factors influencing industrial buyer behavior. The course equips learners with the knowledge and skills needed to develop and implement marketing strategies for industrial goods and services in competitive business environments.
