Becoming from within: Understanding the emergence and embeddedness of inclusive agribusiness entrepreneurs

The entrepreneurial ecosystems (EEs) literature often overlooks rural contexts and developing economies where productive entrepreneurship is assumed to be limited in scope. To address this oversight, we explore the phenomenon of inclusive agribusiness (IAB) entrepreneurs who adopt sustainable agricultural practices to drive poverty alleviation in low-income rural areas.

Positioning Diasporans as Change Agents in the SME Sector

Within an entrepreneurial ecosystem, diasporans are transnational entrepreneurs that bring new ideas, beliefs, norms and behaviors acquired in their country of residence to engage differently in business activities in their home countries.

Fostering bottom-up entrepreneurship in embryonic ecosystems: Insights from smallholders

Published in African Journal Online: Agrosearch, 2021

In embryonic entrepreneurial ecosystems, support policy frameworks seek to revitalize rural communities, alleviate poverty, transform key sectors of the economy and develop local businesses by increasing access to finance among others. However, policy frameworks rarely foster vertical connections across ecosystems particularly from the bottom-up.
